How it started…
In November of 1998, Rick and Rich Nelson, a father-son team from Grand Junction, transformed the shale hills southeast of Delta, Colorado, into a premier game-bird hunting ranch. By early September of that year, their vision had taken shape, with lush emerald fields made possible by a new irrigation system and plenty of hard work.
With their scheduled opening that November, the Nelsons were dedicated to providing an exceptional hunting experience reminiscent of Rick's childhood in Kansas. He envisioned a place where hunters could stroll through vibrant fields and watch flocks of birds take flight, all while offering a safe and rewarding introduction to hunting for young enthusiasts. "Nothing pleased me more than introducing youngsters to the sport," Rick shared.
They eagerly prepared to welcome their first hunters!
